Alright, we've reached the end of week two. And while I haven't been updating you all on my running, I just wanted to pop in to say that so far, everything is still on track. The first two weeks, the "long runs" were just 4 miles. This week and next, the long runs will be 5 miles, which isn't too bad either. After that, though, is when I think I'll really need to start pushing myself.

1023

I don't care that it's about 55 degrees outside right now. I'm determined to find spots that make it seem like it is still summertime outside. Is this picture from my beach house in South Carolina?  Or am I actually in Miami right now? Unclear. Viva the summer.

Happy new year, everybody! By everybody, I basically mean Sarah, and I'm fairly sure that she's the only one who reads this. In any event, I gave some thought to a few new year's resolutions, which I haven't done in quite some time.

My new year's resolution was that I was going to cut back on drinking. Not that I do that too much these days anyway, but still, I wonder how much better my body would be if I just cleaned my act up here. This, unfortunately, lasted approximately 13 hours into the new year before it was broken. Yesterday I was still in Atlanta licking my wounds after an Auburn pounding. My gracious hosts had a pretty hefty stash of beer after their new year's eve party, which meant that at about 1:00, beer was imposed upon me.

Oh well. There's always 2013.

I really did have the best intentions this weekend of taking advantage of some great weather and getting out there andlogging in some miles. Then March Madness happened. Rather than sticking to the plan (which already conveniently allows me a break on Friday and Saturday from real running), I spent 12+ hours at a bar, drinking and eating fries like it was my job. For that day, it was.

What would I do without this?

Those of you who have seen this before know why. It's just so freaking tempting lol.

Alright, people. Last week I said that I was going to embark on this great journey, that I would be working towards a half-marathon goal, and that it'd be mostly up to you to keep me on track and motivated. So can you explain to me how, a week later, you haven't heard a peep from me and yet you still haven't called me out on it? IT TAKES A VILLAGE, PEOPLE. Ha. I said the "Village People." I digress.
