I feel: industrious.
I say it’s the end of week 2, but really, it’s just been two weeks of 3 days each. I am not looking forward to next week, when we have five whole days of bar classes, three of which cover property. Yikes. In any event, I’m still just chugging along - I’m not completely caught up with everything, but I’m not very far behind, and I should be looking good after this weekend, provided I stop posting and start working.
Life is not very exciting now that BarBri has taken over. I wake up, I go to class, I eat lunch, I go to the library, I go home, I eat dinner, I study more, I go to bed. Lather, rinse, repeat. Sure, the TV is interspersed all up in there, but that is neither here nor there.
How are the NBA Playoffs still not over yet?! Does anyone else just feel like they’re watching the same game over and over and over gain because of the best-of-seven format? Come on, NBA. Let’s just move it to March Madness style, or at worst a best-of-three until the finals format and call it a season.

Today was a great day. First of all, the weather was perfect - 87 and sunny. Laura and I went on a seven mile hike this morning at Shenandoah National Park (Doyle Run and Jones Run) where we saw three pretty awesome waterfalls. We also saw a cub and the mama bear.* It was pretty fun.
Wow, I feel like this is a 5th grader’s blog entry. “Today was a great day. It was pretty fun.” Sorry, I am too tired to come up with anything worth any wit.
Julie had a cookout today and it was a good tasty time.
This is all I have to say. I apologize for the incredible lameness of this post.
*This is a lie. We were told that there was a baby cub and the mama bear alongside the road, but we never saw it.

In case you don’t remember, the title of this post is taken from the awesome little Chinese kid from Temple of Doom.
As a disclaimer, I don’t mean to spoil anything here, but I might, so you may want to just stop reading now. We watched the new Indiana Jones last night, and it was awesome. Yes, I looked up crystal skulls on wikipedia before going, so I had a vague idea of the background info going into the movie. So that’s good.
In terms of all-time rankings, I would rank it in the order of Last Crusade, Crystal Skull, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and then, much further down the list, Temple of Doom. The reason Last Crusade was so good for me was the witty father-son banter. You all know I love rapid-fire wit. I think this was pretty much just duplicated in Crystal Skull — that I found to be both a plus and a minus. A plus because it’s winning humor. A minus because I expected them to be more creative and go above and beyond.
Also a minus is that I was disappointed in the antagonist chick. First of all, she was not hot. So, that is a problem. But also, I don’t think she played her role very well either. Sometimes she looked like she was having a change of heart kind of situation, or that we were supposed to sympathize with her or something, but it was then clear that that’s not what the movie was going for at all.
Well, enough of that. Back to UVA Lax! Also, have you guys ever watched lax on tv? Warrior commercials are hilarious.

I feel: drained.
New York Practice. Civil Procedure. Enough said. Today, while not particularly complicated, was exhausting. I’m gonna go back and study some more Crim now, because that makes me feel better.

I feel: Oddly motivated
Today we covered Crim Pro. It was not exciting. I never took it in law school, but it wasn’t too terribly bad. Tomorrow is all about NY Practice, which is going to be a wreck. Civ Pro was not exactly my favorite subject…much less NY Civ Pro. Blech. The thought of it is making me tired already.
Am I exhausted already? Yes. But strangely enough, I feel good about life still right now. I am sure suicidal thoughts will be crossing my mind as we approach July. (For those concerned, I jest - no actual suicidal thoughts, tendencies, or actions shall be had or taken. Thank you.)

I feel: motivated.
Today we covered crimes. I feel good coming out of that. Not only did I find that to be among the most interesting classes of law school, but Dean Jeffries had basically beat the subject into my head. So I at least recognized everything that was discussed today. Tomorrow we cover crim pro. I did not take this class in law school, which I think will be the case for most of the stuff we cover in class. But here I am in the library, and right after I’m done with this post, I will get back to it.
I can do this. Tim Finchem told me that passion and attitude are what I need to succeed in life. He said 2 other things too, but I can’t remember them anymore. Hopefully these were the only two that mattered. I am trying desperately to stick to a 9-5 schedule on weekdays, and do some reasonable work on weekends.
OK, back to Crim Pro. Woo.

Beach Week is over. Graduation is over. Pictures from both are online now.
So now what? The time for celebration is, apparently, over. Now I’m just stuck at home reading my BarBri books. Boooo. Classes start tomorrow for about 4 hours a day every day until the middle of July. Then I’m apparently just on my own. Sigh.
I know I have been horribly bad about updating this month, but now that all the festivities are over and I will be bored to tears with BarBri, I am sure that I will be posting more often. Until then,
Brian J. Leung, J.D.

So, I’ve had a steady, and healthy, dose of alcohol every hour that i’ve been awake for the past three days. it’s been pretty magical. I spent the day in the sun and jumped on cold, and shell-ful ocean, which was a good time.
Sarah Hughes is delightful! She let us crash her family’s beach house for an entire week and, shockingly, has not yet grown annoyed of us yet.
Also, McKenzie has signed on to part of my Bar Trip, in California

Not exactly. But, this guy put together a pretty remarkable giant Nintendo controller coffee table.

The best part of it all is that it is actually fully functional. Take a look at how much fun she is having!

Yeah I’m pretty jealous of that. They put online a video clip as well of the two of them playing their totally sweet NES controller. This is exactly what I need for New York. Precisely. Yeah then I’ll totally be the coolest guy on the block!

Not Law Review. This is the Virginia motto. No, that’s a lie. This is really just the BLOTUS way of life.
