VT RibbonUsually when you come to this site, you can expect to see one of the following: (1) Virginia is awesome, (2) something anti-Duke/Maryland/Virginia Tech (in no particular order), or (3) law school woes.

But today I recognize my duty as a Virginian to take a moment and remember the tragic loss of thirty three lives at Virginia Tech on this day last year. I dont have too terribly much to say about this, except that I hope the families of the victims — all thirty three of them — are doing as well as they can do today. I can only imagine what they must have gone through in the past year, and frankly, I hope never to have to live through that.

The Virginia Tech shootings is an unfortunate reminder that, no matter in which bubble you live, whether here in Charlottesville, there in Blacksburg, over in DeKalb, Illinois, or anywhere else in the country, your entire world can be rocked in one fell swoop. I hope my Hokie friends know that we are all there for them.
