Well I mean I knew it was possible, but it seems like the rest of the world was in doubt. Chat, in response to my away message yesterday of “today is the day the Giants rule the world,” said that this is how people know I don’t know about football. Well guess what, chump? Giants are in the Superbowl!
Pats-Giants is exactly the game I wanted to see. At the beginning of the season, I wanted to be a Pats fan (those of you who know me know that I’ve really just started following the NFL this year — perhaps it’s because they’re forcing me to leave cozy Cville next year and I know I won’t be able to watch every UVA game?). I rooted for them, sure, but that was more of a bandwagon thing (pre-scandal…now it’s the anti-bandwagon thing, haha). But I’ve found myself rooting for Eli and the Giants all season long. Why Eli? The guy is stuck living in the shadows of his more successful big brother. I guess I relate, haha. Anyway, go Giants.
Also, big win for the Cavs this weekend vs. BC. 2008 has been a tough year for Wahoo sports, but hopefully this win vs. BC will spark a run by our team. I think that this year, aside from Duke and Carolina (aww, poor heels. Stupid dirty Terps.) at the top, the ACC is pretty wide open. A 1-2 start in the ACC won’t kill us, but we certainly have our work cut out for us. Go Hoos.

I have no particularly deep insight (who am I kidding..I have no deep insights whatsoever), but as I sit here on the last day of my J-Term class, I am looking around and noticing a few things. First of all, there are two students here not using laptops. Two out of twenty. That boggles my mind - how can you possibly survive a class without using your laptop? Then again, I bet you people get good grades. Ridiculous.
Second, there are six of us here with coffee on the table, and not a single repeat. I have my trusty Bodo’s BoJoe. Also sitting on the table is a Greenberry’s, Starbucks, McDonald’s, 7Eleven, and a travel mug from home. Wow, what does this say about us? I don’t know. It means that we come from different parts of town? It means that we are all coffee snobs with particular preferences? (I, after all, hate Greenberry’s.) It means, most likely, that I need to stop looking around and pay attention.
I had more blogworthy wit to include here, but apparently I have been sapped of humor and energy. So I sign off for now.

It is 5:15 AM on January 11. Classes haven’t started yet. Not even J-Term. And yet here I am, still wide awake, typing “furiously” at my paper (which, for the record, isn’t due for another week). What’s going on? Am I going to be studious during spring of my final year?
A student studying in the office across from mine just left and went to pick up McDonald’s breakfast. First of all, let it note that he must have made record time, because I thought he just went for a bathroom break or something. Second of all, really buddy? It’s 5:15. Go to bed! That sucks that you’re planning an all-nighter already. Good luck.
But seriously. Why am I working on this now? I am stupid. Stupid because I am working on this. Still working on this because I am stupid. It’s a sick cycle.

After fourteen years of waiting, American Gladiators has FINALLY returned! Is it as awesome as the old one? Debatable. Is it still awesome though? No doubt. The gladiators definitely have more personality than the old version, but there’s something about the familiar names of Nitro, Laser, Storm, and Ice that gives the old version a little edge. Also, tonight’s two hour premiere featured (1) a challenge-ending injury and (2) a victorious little asian man. Those are two necessary ingredients to any great show!

Happy New Year, everyone! I just got back from a trip to New York and am exhausted. I am all Chinatowned out, if there is such a thing. OK, that is false. I would happily walk around CT again if someone were to take me there. Mmm, foood. Stupid pictures to come
