2 + 1

This is easily one of the coolest things I’ve seen.  Ever.  A Korean Company, SDESIGNUNIT, came up with this rather nifty invention.  I want one.  Sure, it looks ugly and the color won’t match anything in anyone’s apartment, unless your apartment is a vomit of a painter’s garage.  But it still looks pretty nifty.

Well that was depressing

Monday, November 26th, 2007

This past weekend was perhaps one of the most depressing in the world of UVA sports in a while.  After having five people (Greg, Kirby, Diane, Rico, McKenzie…just so they don’t yell at me for not giving them a shout-out) crash at my place on Friday night in excitement for the UVA-Tech game, we were all led to disappointment.  I won’t go into all the details on our failure, nor will I start pointing fingers right now (if I were, my finger would be pointed right at Al Groh.  Pay attention to Lloyd Carr’s story - it is very important to win your rivalry game more than once every 8 years), namely because I’m just too depressed to relive the trauma.  I’ll say that our team played decently, certainly during the second quarter.

My depression was further capped by our men’s basketball team dropping one to Seton Hall in the Philly Hoop Group Classic finals.  (Side note:  Can an event be a “classic” if it is in its first year?)  Sadness ensued.  Still though, I like our team this year.  If Lars or Ryan can step it up and get some freakin rebounds and be a more dominant force under the basket, we should be looking good this season.

Also, Kyle Singler sucks.

Almost breaktime

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

I should be in Virginia Beach right now.  I should just be rolling out of bed to my parents’ cooking downstairs.  I should not have any casebooks open.  It should be Thanksgiving Break already.  But alas, I have a Seminar in Ethical Values on Sunday that I unfortunately cannot skip.  So because I have endeavored to become a more ethical person (perhaps to balance the disaster that we will call the MPRE), I am here until Sunday night or Monday morning, depending on how I feel about driving at night.  Alas.

In other news, UVA Football has a bye this week, which means I’m allowed to wear any other team’s colors that I went.  Naturally, I am wearing my UMIAMI shirt!  Go U!  And relatedly, UVA plays Arizona tonight in basketball.  Should be a great game, and a big win on the road is really going to set the tone of our season.  Here’s to hoping Sean Singletary, Jeff Jones, and Ryan Petinella (I don’t know why I like that guy so much…he reminds me a little of Nick Van Derlaan…remember him?  Mr. Mittens?) are ready for some big numbers.

PILA’s up

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Well, PILA has come and gone, which means I’m more money in the hole.  I ended up winning a brunch with Professor Kitch…basically the same thing I’ve already been on once this year!  I am out of control.

Anyway, pictures are up.

The sad part about PILA having passed is that this means the end of my social calendar, basically.  Blah.  Stupid exams.
