I have nothing of any value to write today. I went to M&A for the first time in a while and I am quickly reminded why I should stop attending this class. I am bored to tears. I even thought about reading last night. I know - ambitious for a 3L.  (Note:  if the firm is reading this (wow, that sounds creepy - The Firm…dun dun dun), I am TOTALLY just kidding - I go to all my classes.  Especially M&A.  Same goes if this is mom reading this - totally kidding.)
My birthday is coming up on Saturday, October 27. I have no grand plans aside from the stupid halloween party that night. I say stupid not because I don’t like law school parties or that I don’t think it will be a lot of fun, but because I really, really hate costume parties. Like, really. But alas. I will go.

Anyway, for the first time in a while, I have no birthday wish list. I don’t know what this means. It clearly does not mean that I don’t want any presents - that would be false. Straight up. I want lots and lots of presents. This just means that you have to get creative. Here are some tips, as you consider this.

1. I like anything with Virginia on it. I prefer the V-Sabres over the block-V and over the Seal.
2. I like technology and gadgets and anything cool like that.
3. I really love it when people from my law firm send me presents. I’m just sayin’. I know you read this. [Insert Ode to Katie]
4. You cannot go wrong with liquor. Ever.

Wow. I hope there is more to my life than what I’ve listed above. Virginia, technology, and booze. Hm, I guess that does sum it up pretty well. Anyway, you’ve got two days to buy some presents. Good luck, and god speed.

I am trying really, really hard to buckle down and prepare for / take this Trade Secrets final this weekend. Unfortunately, yesterday was College Gameday, Virginia Soccer played/beat Carolina, and today I am stressing over my Fantasy team (is there any reason why Joey Harrington can’t complete a freaking pass? Oh that’s right, he sucks.). Needless to say, I am not getting very far on this exam.

So how about this? Who saw these standings coming? UVA is still very much so in contention for the ACC title, or at least Division Title. Alright, sure, the only ACC teams we’ve played thus far are the three at the bottom of our division. But look. UNC beat Miami, and we beat UNC, therefore, go ahead and put that in the Guaranteed column…or something like that. In any event, Miami is obviously beatable this year. We also have Maryland and NC State at the bottom of the other side of the conference. And then there’s Wake and Virginia Tech. Wake is at home this year, and they are certainly a beatable team. Tech is also at home this year and um. Well, ok then, whatever. Anyway, put away the Groh Must Go signs for another year, kids.

Anyway, I suppose I should go back to working on this exam. I will be in New York next Tuesday and Wednesday (and Thursday morning) if anyone would like to meet up and go out for drinks or something fun. Hit me up.

Just to let you know, Foxfield pictures are up.  For whatever reason, I failed to take a lot of pictures this year.  I am not sure if it’s because I had more or less alcohol than usual.  I don’t think any of the pictures really accurately capture my outfit.  I am definitely looking forward to Spring Foxfield.
