Cupid Shuffle

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Sorry for the delay in posting. It’s been a crazy week. On the plus side, Relay for Life is done. It was an awesome event, but MAN was it cold. Really, really cold. But our team raised a lot of money, so we should be proud of ourselves.

Second, speaking of proud, I am proud to have turned in a 40-page paper today. Woohoo. But now I’m drained. My “outlining” for the evening has consisted of copying into a new document all the cases covered in the syllabus. Productive? I think so.

Also, I know it’s just the beginning of the exam study period (I opened my book for the first time tonight) but I think I’m already hitting delirium. Just tonight, I was doing the Cupid Shuffle and the Cha Cha Slide in the middle of Scott Commons. I have issues. Real, legitimate issues.

Also, THANKS to Diane for sending me a care package! This is why she rocks my socks off. Anyway, I’m keeping this short because undoubtedly I will be looking for procrastination over the next couple weeks. Whooo!

Inspiring

I found this speech to be particularly inspiring with regards to the Virginia Tech tragedy.

Deathbed

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

I am dying.  I don’t mean in the sense that I am overwhelmed with work (well, that too), but I mean I am physically dying.  I woke up in the middle of the night to throw up last night.  I woke up again this morning to that same delight.  My body is incredibly sore, I have a fever, and my throat is scratchy.  Also, lunch came back up as well.  I am dying.  Please save me.

Time to Buckle Down

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Well, Thursday night was (so I claim) my last night out for the semester. I have a paper due in two weeks, three exams, and then another research project due by May 11. It’s going to be a rough few weeks coming up. On the plus side, I had a great time on Thursday. Laura, Steve, Jeff, and I went bowling, and then we all went to Buddhist (of course). It was a good time. No real story or drama on my end though. Sorry to disappoint.  A handful of pictures are up from that though.
Anyway, I’m here in the SBA office doing research for International Ifs…woo. What fun. However, I’m looking for someone with whom to play darts tonight in the office, if anyone would like to take me up on that offer.

Also, I had lunch at 4:30 today and then had dinner at 7. WHAT is wrong with me?!

Baseball and Asians

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

I put up pictures from a UVA-Miami baseball game and an APALSA potluck.  Also, I went to bed at 11:45pm last night and woke up at 10.  It felt amazing.

As if March Madness were over

Monday, April 9th, 2007

In procrastinating from preparing for my Antitrust Mergers presentation tomorrow, I came across this link.  Take 2 seconds and vote (no need to register for anything!) for UVA, because as we all know, UVA is the coolest law school.

Mmm cheetos…

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Last night I got a full 8 hours of sleep.  It was great.  I woke up an hour early and was fully refreshed and ready to go on 7 hours, but made myself go back to sleep to savour the last hour.  Delightful.  As a result, I wasn’t sleepy today until about 1:30 a.m., which I suppose is a reasonable time to get sleepy.

In other, not so good, news, Sarah mentioned Cheetos to me once today and I couldn’t stop thinking about them ever since.  So here I am, 2:24 a.m., sitting in bed while one hand flips the pages of the congressional record I’m reading and the other orange-stained hand reaches into the Cheetos bag for more.  The madness must stop.

Not enough sleep

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

So here is what I’ve decided.  For several weeks now, I’ve been going to sleep sometime between 4:00 - 5:00 a.m. and waking up at around 9:00 a.m.  This is except maybe two or three nights.  I can’t imagine this is very good for my health.  For example, just now I was reading through an article and my entire body just collapsed.  I’m not talking about the case where my eyes get droopy and my eyelids get heavy, and then eventually I fall asleep and fall over.  I’m talking about reading, reading, reading, and then just a sudden drop.  It was kind of scary.  I don’t know why I’m staying up so late - I’m not particularly busy (though my goal was to finish this antitrust paper this weekend), so I don’t know why I’m doing this.  I haven’t begun outlining for finals yet, so I can’t even blame it on that.  I dunno.  In any event, I am going to bed now.
