Winter break is supposed to be relaxing! Whoever told me that lied. I’m TIRED! Christmas pictures are up in the photo album. I’m working at the law firm over this break, and because of that, I can’t sleep in every day. Boooo. Also, my little cousins from New York are in town for the week, so I can’t even just sit and chill at night. Boooo again. I just want to sit. And not do anything. But oh wait, I have to do my Dillarding memos also. And I have to do the pro bono work for the Entertainment and Sports Law Ass’n. Doh. Oh well. It’s all decent, low stress work, so what can I complain?
Crap. 11:05. Time for bed.

It’s always nice to come back to the good ol’ 757. I’ve been here for only 14 hours and I’ve already taken a nap and ate beyond excess. That’s the beauty of still being in school - you still have breaks where you can go home to your parents’ house and just veg out for a while.
Well, I guess I can’t veg out too long. I’m working at the firm again over winter break - excited about that. It’ll be nice to see the folks again and, as an extra bonus, make some cash money.
I neglected to put up pictures from the Hampton game online. So those should be up now. That’ll be the last album in the Fall 2006 collection. A moment of silence, please.

I don’t care what you say. My 1Ls blow your 1Ls out of the water. I mean, sure they look better, they drink more, and they’re smarter than your 1Ls. But here’s yet another reason why mine dominate yours: they buy me presents. hahahaha. My small section plus Jackie got together to get me a #44 Sean Singletary jersey! If that’s not amazingly awesome, I don’t know what is. Didier and Tim also called my birthday wishlist loveably dorky. I guess that sums me up pretty well, haha.
So for those of you keeping track from the October entry, two (flask and jersey) of the five have been taken care of. This means there is still plenty of opportunity for the rest of you to buy me presents. When a couple more of those are gone, I’ll post an updated wish list.
Thanks guys! You all ROCK my WORLD.

Ok, I know that it is December 17 and I am way past the reasonable time frame during which to discuss Halloween costumes, but I have finally gotten my grubby little hands on a picture of the CUTEST HALLOWEEN KID EVER! This is Justin Torres’s kid. The best chicken in the history of the world. The little girl in the background is cute too, but she doesn’t stand a chance against her sister.

Just a quickie 1. UVA vs. Hampton, Men’s Basketball: Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Perhaps they were just not back in the groove yet due to immense studying. That’s what Ryan’s away messages have been implying anyway - lots of studying.
2. Leitao was ejected from the game in the first half with 4:30 to go. How awesome is that? Thanks, Dave, for sticking up for your boys! Also, the crowd got so angry that we made up for the lack of numbers last night. It was ridiculous.
3. They played “The Contender” theme song. That, too, was awesome!
4. Here is the FINAL INSTALLMENT of the Greatest Journal on Earth video series!

Bad Dreams; GJOE 4/5 Man. Corporations is starting to get to me. Last night I was on a roll - I ended up working straight through till 5:30 a.m. because, well, I had nothing else better to do. It felt good to finally be a little stressed out over work. I took a 30 minute nap from 2:45-3:15, but man was I good to go after that. A couple nights ago I was dreaming about Corporations. I can’t remember what it was, but I woke up thinking to myself, “Well clearly that’s a breach of fiduciary duty with a shareholder derivative suit just waiting to happen” or something dumb like that. It was creepy. Friday night I had dreamt that the entire Employment Law exam was in FRENCH and I didn’t know what to do! I just kept writing “J’Accuse! J’Accuse!” over and over again. It was horrible.
Anyway, GJOE Video #4 is up tonight.
It is definitely a step up from last night, but it’s still pretty cheesy, haha. Hey, if you don’t like watching these videos, think about how I felt sitting through this third-string version of the “Greatest Show on Earth” - these videos are actualy the HIGHLIGHT of the evening! Have faith though. I feel that the next (and final) video may be worth your time!

GJOE Video #3. Plus Doritos. The GREATEST Journal on Earth is proud to present the third installment!
Now wait. I know what you’re going to say. “Booo, what is this, some sort of third-string journal? We already SAW the trapeze show!” I know, but you have to understand that (1) this one is not the same as the last trapeze show and (2) this was presented to us as the most dangerous stunt they’ve ever done! How was I not to record that?
OK, lame. We will give an update tomorrow (hopefully) to make up for this disappointing installment.
In related news, after the stunt where a dog catches lots of frisbees in the air, the ringleader announces, “Now, a lot of people ask us how we train our animals to do this. Well, we’ll let you in on a little secret. It’s through positive reinforcement and rewards.” ::applause from kids:: ::groan from me and the four others with me:: Immediately after this, they brought the dog into this small cage with a black cloth draped over it. No joke.
OK, to end this quick entry, here is an interesting article I found not too long back. A Doritos cargo apparently washed up on the Outer Banks a couple weeks ago. Naturally, I would be right there with these people collecting as many as I could hold.

Is it March yet? Well, I just took my first exam this morning. It’s nice to get that one out of the way. Just two more to go, and about a week to study for each. Shouldn’t be too bad, right?
I fell asleep during the exam this morning. It was only for about 5 minutes, but there you go. I did it. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m actually narcoleptic. I’ve even gotten 6-8 hours of sleep each night for the past week. This is bound to be the most healthy exam period to date. Aside from the fact that I’m eating jelly beans right now.
Anyway, The Greatest Journal On Earth is proud to present the second installment of the circus right here. Happy procrastinating!
Anyway, as I sit here studying for Corporations, I can’t help but to sit here and wonder when March will come around. March signifies Spring Break (a CRUISE anyone??), March Madness, Feb Club recovery, and other such delightful wonders. Is it March yet?

The GREATEST Journal on Earth! OK, I don’t think I’m quite at that level yet. But yesterday instead of studying, I went to the Ringling Bros./Barnum & Bailey circus, the self-proclaimed greatest show on Earth! I don’t know about that, but it was still a great time. Next time though, I will come prepared with a flask. In any event, there are lots of pictures up in the photo album. In an attempt to allow you to get a flavor of the show yourself, BLOTUS, the Greatest Journal on Earth, will be releasing a few videos over the next few days to let you see some of the feats.
Today, feast your eyes on some jumproping. Not the most exciting, but hey - I can’t give away the best part on the first night, now can I? In any event, I think the two dudes were interesting. And by interesting, I mean disturbing at best. You’ll know who I’m talking about.

I mean it. In every possible way. I’m behind on my journal-posting. I’m behind in my classes. I’m behind in my social life, even. I don’t understand how December can be such a crummy month in the sense that everything comes together. Oh wait. I do understand. Callbacks, dinners, and parties. Life caught up with me.
So what do I do? Well clearly the answer is not that I studied this past weekend. McKenzie came up to visit this weekend. Well, she really just came up for the NC State game. I was an added benefit. Or a necessary evil. Depends on perspective, I suppose. In any event, Saturday we stayed in and watched Georgetown blow it on Duke. I also learned how to play this Settlers game that Seth seems to always be talking about. Hmm, i still have a city of his. Perhaps I should consider returning it. Meh. In good time, my dear friend.
Sunday we went to the NC State basketball game. That was fun, and now there are pictures up in the photo gallery. That was our first ACC-opener victory in twelve years! TWELVE! Holy crikey!
In related news, I needed to post this before it was tainted. That’s right. Virginia is sitting at the top of the ACC. This, too, has not happened in a long time. So, this is good. I, as usual, am excited about the team and think that we’ve got a good season ahead of us (knock on wood). The only problem is that if Sean and/or JR have off-nights, the entire team suffers, as I’m not sure the others step it up in time to pull off the W. But we shall remain optimistic.
Man, there’s so much to talk about I don’t even know where to go from here. Monday and Tuesday were spent in the books. Luckily for me, I only have three exams - one of which is Leslie’s casefile. Studywise, this means I only have two exams. This is glorious. So what did I do with all this extra time today? I ended up going to Walmart (yes, I shop there, and I’m proud of it. They have good deals, what can I say? Little Johnny needs money for bread anyway) and buying a ton of games, food, candy, etc. for my small-section 1Ls. It was good to just not think about exams for a while.
Wednesday night I went to dinner with Professor Moran at her place - the dillard dinner. It was a delightful dinner (hey, they had rice). Afterwards, I went to Ericka’s for holiday festivities. it was certainly good times.
Tomorrow / Today though. I go to the CIRCUS! Because I am pretty sure this will help me catch up from being behind. Crap. But…my seats are in Row 3, I believe. AWESOME.
