Yes, I have Friday classes.

Friday, September 15th, 2006

Someone needs to remind me this every Thursday when I get these uncontrollable urges to go out and have a good time.  Friday morning classes (by morning, I mean 10:30) become painful.  That having been said, last night was fun.  There were a ton of 1Ls out there, but I suppose a decent number of 2 and 3Ls made it to South Street as well.

Friday “morning” class is quite interesting.  I am looking around and this is what I’m seeing:

  1. The guy in the far left corner is having problems focusing.  Luckily for him, the girl in front of him and at an angle is taking notes like a champ.  Consequently, he has spent the past 15 minutes squinting at her screen copying her notes.
  2. The guy in front of me is looking at recipes.  He’s been particularly interested in chicken parmesean.
  3. The guy in front of him is looking at some strange numbers/chatting sort of site.  Teletext is what it looks like.  I don’t know what it is, but he’s totally into it.
  4. Ooh, I just saw someone who’s only taking notes.
  5. The girl to the left of me has spent a solid 10 minutes on facebook.  She also spent time before that on Friendster.  She’ll be reading this entry later, I’m sure.  Sorry to call you out on that.
  6. Finally, of note is that the class, usually 90+, is sitting at less than 50% here.  The row I’m sitting in has room for 16 it looks like, and it’s usually completely full.  There are only 6 of us here.

So now you know what it’s like Friday mornings.  Also, can someone please remind me NOT to buy BOTH tater tots AND the croissant sandwiches?  Mmm, they are both so delightful and tasty, but I really don’t need both.

Someone just forwarded me an email regarding HokieFootball.  I hate reading this crap.  I wish they would just disintegrate.  Alternatively, be incinerated.  Anyway, I decided to humor him and take a glance at the article.  Anyway, the first paragraphs tates:

We are 2-0, have Duke in town, and this season is starting to get exciting.

I’m happy they’re 2-0.  I really am.  (Note:  That was a lie.)  But I’m intrigued that they followed that up with “have Duke in town” and commented that the season is starting to get exciting.  I, too, always get excited about the season when  Duke comes into town.  Ha.
