Still. At. Home.
Friday, August 11th, 2006So. Here I am. Still sitting at home. Originally I was going back to C’ville today (the 10th) and I would have been freeee, but then I realized what a bad person I’d be to go back on Thursday when my mom’s birthday is on Saturday and I have no need to be back in C’ville that early. After all, interviews and stuff don’t start until the 23rd, and classes don’t start until like, the 30th. So yeah. Chill out, I’ve got time.
So here I am, living with my parents. This will hopefully be my last summer here. Actually, this summer wasn’t so bad. I worked most of the time so I wasn’t sitting on my butt all day. And I get free rent and delicious food. Can I really complain? But I do want to be elsewhere next summer. DC? NYC? Seattle? Who knows.
Having spent time with some friends last weekend at the Branches’ wedding, they kept mentioning how I was going to be a hot shot lawyer in a big city and how I’m going to leave everyone behind. It sort of made me feel guilty for wanting to try out the big city life and see if it’s right for me. I mean…if I stay in the area, I’m around some good friends, I’m close to family, and I’m in an area where I can really make a name for myself. On the flip side, being in a big city has tons of advantages as far as resources, juicier cases/deals, greater entertainment, etc. I dunno…
