DMB - Unbe-freakin-lievable!

Wow, that was UNBELIEVABLE! The firm got me a pair of tickets to see the Dave Matthews Band at the VB Amphitheater . . . SECOND ROW, right smack in the center! Seriously, it was amazing. We were close enough to smell the pot that he must have been smoking backstage (Come on now - it’s Dave. You know this is coming). I called Chat a couple times during the show to let him hear, and I told him I could smell his pot and Chat heard, “smell his crotch.” Um. Yeah. This is awkward.
Anyway, he played almost all the favorites - pretty much every good song except for Ants Marching. HOW can you NOT play Ants Marching?!?! Absolutely ridiculous. But the show was a blast, I had a good bit of alcohol in me (read below), and the lightshow on stage, as usual, was spectacular. Also, he closed out the show with fireworks, and you can’t ever beat that. I don’t know if you can read the picture above, but it’s the ticket - Section 102 (center) Row B (awesome). Once I figure out a good way to set up my photo album, I’ll post all my pictures online. I got some good ones.
Oh wait - the story doesn’t end there! I ran into Katie Coan at the show and ‘lo and behold, she works for a DMB company up in Charlottesville! She had a pair of wristbands for her and her friend Ian to go to the backstage VIP tent…but lucky for me, she had an extra wristband! So I freakin got to go backstage while the rest of the law firm were in their seats and relax at their open bar (always a good thing - always). I got a few into me while I was there (they wouldn’t let me take it outside the tent, booo) and I actually saw their violinist back there boozin’ it up! Sadly, it was before the show and I didn’t know who he was (come on - aside from Dave, who really recognized the rest? haha), so I didn’t get a picture or anything. Plus, he wasn’t wearing his mesh shirt at the time. FYI.
OK, I gotta shower and go to bed. Work first thing in the morning :/ …oh well, what can you do
. I got a video of the show too that I’ll put up - it’s proof that he was clearly high at the time. Unfortunately my battery camera was dead halfway in and I couldn’t take any more vids. Meh.
