Brian Leung received his B.A. American Government and B.A. Philosophy at the University of Virginia in 2005 and is attending U.Va. School of Law as a member of the Class of 2008. What kind of law is he interested in practicing? He doesn't know yet. He's leaning towards the transactional side, but has not definitively decided either way. He enjoys corporate and intellectual property. He took Federal Income Tax and Antitrust his first year of law school and became greatly interested in those areas as well. Suffice it to say, at this point in his career, it's almost all wide open.
Brian was voted "Most Involved" in his high school's senior superlatives. This carried into his undergraduate years, where he was Vice President of the Class of 2005, Head Resident of Stadium Road (Gooch/Dillard), Initiate Advisor for Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and a whole slew of other activities, including a member of the original, pre-distorted Hoo Crew. Law School is no different. Brian is serving as a 2006-2007 Dillard Fellow, Peer Advisor, Student Bar Association Class Representative, Vice Chair of Recruitment for the Admissions Committee, a tour guide, Vice Chair for the Student Bar Association Website Committee, Member Development Chair for the Virginia Law and Business Society, Professional Development Chair for the Virginia Entertainment and Sports Law Association, Communications Chair for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and a mentor for the Legal Advisory Workshops for Undergraduate Students organization. He is also the loudest fan at any Virginia Football or men's basketball game. If you ever need orange hairspray for a game, Brian's your go-to guy.
Born in New Bern, NC, Brian went to middle and high school at Western Branch, in Chesapeake, VA. During his first year of college, his parents moved to Virginia Beach, VA...a mere 10 minutes from the beach itself. He has one older brother who currently works in Maryland at the National Institute of Health, attempting to find the cure for cancer.
It is rare indeed to find Brian without a smile on his face. An optimist, Brian tries to find the good in any situation, yet he remains grounded and considers facts and logic rather than emotion and dreams. His friends will tell you that Brian has a great sense of humor which he allows to guide him into uncharted territory.
Brian once had a pet betta fish named Bruce Lee. Unfortunately, the fish, living over a year, has since passed. In his free time, Brian enjoys playing tennis, golf, and poker. He will never turn down a game of tennis if it's nice out. He has also been known to have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with chicken wings and chinese dumplings.
